L-Arginine is one of the natural amino acids, that our body needs to function properly, which changes into Nitric oxide (NO). NO is a signalling molecule that causes blood vessels to open wider for improved blood flow, mitochondrial function, cellular communication and so on. It acts as a precursor to other amino acids like polyamines, agmatine, urea, glutamate, proline and creatinine which are essential for health and functioning of the immune system. Arginine is necessary for the development of T-cells, which are white blood cells that play a central role in immune response. It stimulates the release of growth hormone, insulin and other substances in the body. L-Arginine is considered as semi- essential or conditionally essential amino acid which becomes essential under circumstances and conditions like pregnancy, infancy, critical illness and trauma.
